The basic rarely needs an introduction and always remains a classic! This recipe's dahi vada has a distinctive north Indian flavor that makes it so delectable that you wouldn't need to eat it again. The deep-fried dumplings, which are made from gently spiced, urad dal-based batter, are soaked in water to make them more soft and spongy before being covered in a smooth, creamy layer of beaten curd. It has a great, alluring appearance and tastes thanks to the garnish of red chilli powder, roasted cumin, sweet chutney, and coriander leaves. Let's go on!

Dahi Vada Recipe Important Ingredients 

  • 3 cup of urad dal 
  •  salt as per Taste
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 2 tsp ginger paste
  • 1 teaspoons of baking soda
  • 2 cups yoghurt
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 2 tsp red chili powder
  • 3 tsp chaat masala
  • 2 cup chutney made of tamarind
  • 2 cup coriander leaves, chopped
  • cooking oil


How to Make Dahi Vada Recipe at Home

Step 1- Wash the urad dal in water for 4 - 5 days or overnight.


Step 2- Drain the water and crush the masala to a smooth paste using a little water.


Step 3- Add sugar, coriander seeds, dark pepper, garlic paste, and baking soda to the masala paste and mix well.


Step 4- Heat oil in a heavy frying pan.


Step 5- Wet your hands and get a small portion of the masala mixture. Flatten it significantly and form it into a small ball.


Step 6- Carefully slide the em into the hot oil and cook until golden brown.


Step 7- Remove the em from the oil and place it on a paper towel to remove excess oil.


Step 8- With the remaining masala combination, carry out the process once more.


Step 9- In a bowl, stir the cheese with sugar, cumin powder, red chili powder, and chutney chutney.


Step 10- Wash the fried vada in water for 5 - 10 minutes.


Step 11- Place the items in the cheese mixture after squeezing out the water from the vada.


Step 12- garnish with parsley leaves chopped and tamarind chutney.

Step 13- Offer chilled.

Dahi Vada Recipe Important Tips 

Tip 1.The curd is sweetened with honey in Gujarat and Maharashtra, but if you don't enjoy a sweeter flavor, you can skip it.

Tip 2.Vada can be made using either an equal amount of moong dal and an amount less of it, or just from lava.

Tip 3.For a better flavor, yogurt should be chilled. Yogurt can be beat beforehand and then chilled in a fridge.

Tip 4.After they have completely cooled, transfer the fried vada into the hot water to ensure that they are totally submerged. They may become softer as a result.

Tip 5.Make sure the water is certainly hot as you remove vada from it; otherwise, you risk burning your hands.

Tip 6.They will instantly turn golden brown on the outside but stay undercooked from the inside if you deep-fry them over a high flame.

Tip 7.They will absorb more oil if you fry them over a low flame.
